Lyrics

Little girl at the window, little girl want her man.

Countin’ each beat of the second hand.

Cold winds blow, snow blockin’ the track.

Fightin’ each inch till I get on back. Here I come, here I come.

Freezin’ outside but that’s all gonna change.

Open the door; hear you call out my name…now

My house on fire, my house on fire,

My house on fire with your love.

Gave you my love and I ain’t been the same.

You crawled in my bones, girl, you’re stokin’ the flame.

Lord gave my furnish, I ain’t fixin’ to roam.

I got the real love, I…I’m getting’ too warm.

I promised to love, I’m wearin’ your brand

Cuz a man don’t love, can’t call that mofo a man.

Ain’t no surprise, somehow everyone know,

You on my mind everywhere I go.

This whole world could be goin’ to hell,

I get home to my citadel…

My house on fire, my house on fire,

My house on fire with your love.

My house is love, a burnin’ fire

That’s in my bones and risin’ higher

With flames alive that melt all fear

And burns so bright and true and clear.

Story

This is about a road trip my wife and I took to celebrate our anniversary a few years ago. We drove down to Clarksdale, MS on Highway 61, where i played at the Ground Zero Blues Club. We drove up to Memphis and had a great time, listening to some blues and just hanging out around town. It was just a blast!

Someday we're going to drive the Blues Highway all the way up to Chicago, my home town, and listen to some Blues on the Southside. I love it there.

Lyrics

Road trip down to Stovall, Mississippi.

First stop on the Blues Highway.

Divin’ into deep muddy waters.

Delta, meet Chicago today.

Guitar slangin’ on my shoulder.

That girl on the other side.

We gonna do some heated celebratin’.

Rockabluesic come along for the ride.

Chorus::

Roll up all the way to Memphis.

Get down, dirty on the Southside.

Crossroads, spent a time or two down there

Beatin’ on the dog downstairs.

Looked up, saw Jesus at the corner

Lookin’ too cool with his wavy hair.

Repeat Chorus:

Top down, sunglasses,

Catfish, large sweet tea.

That girl’s hair, blowin’ like a….

I’m lookin’ at her, she lookin’ at me!

Look out, we got a man on a mission.

Move over, better let me by.

Don’t this thing run any faster?

My, my, my, my, my!!!

Repeat Chorus:

Story

This is about a playground of love and the fullness of joy I share with my wife. Our lives are pretty much the opposite of what people expect life to be. Sometime I feel like a little kid in a wonderland—not Neverland but Foreverland.

Lyrics

Quiet sighs drifting in the night.

Silhouettes illumined by the gentle purple light.

Come to me, let me feel your face.

Let us run together to our favorite hiding place.

Can you feel the beating of our heart?

Can we fathom all that love imparts?

Start the dance, swaying to and fro.

Moving to the rhythm of the promise long ago.

Olden dreams become reality;

I in you and you in me.

Gonna run through the night as a blazing light.

       I’m a shooting star, you’re a meteor,

Like a fiery flame ignites again…and again

Oh so close, tender hearts embrace.

Never take for granted what so many long to taste.

Take you in my arms once again.

Love me like there’s no tomorrow.

       Take you…once again.

See our love traverse to a brand new earth

Where the air is fresh as a baby’s breath

And the scent as fine as when the woodbine twines.

Bridge:     Walk though the fields in our own wonderland.

Sail on a breeze hand-in-hand through the sky.

Oh my love, what the heart can hold!

Far beyond the measure that the words of earth have told.

Let us taste the garden of our love.

Love you like today’s forever.

       Let us taste…our love.

Though the world may say it will end in pain,

It cannot withstand what our love commands

Cuz it’s strong and pure and it will endure all things.

Repeat Bridge:

Oh, what your love has done for me.

Oh, what your love still does for me.

Thankful hearts, fearless as we give,

Reaping heart’s desires as we love the life we live.

Free to be the way we’re meant to be.

Living like we’re love incarnate.

       Free…we’re meant to be.

Gonna run and play as the light of day

With the eyes of a child and a million smiles,

Full of joy and peace that will never cease…never.

Story

Ok, I got a little weird here, but it's a playful song about a married couple that doesn't let their lovelife get boring. Hey, ours isn't!! Hi-Ho Silver! Be lovingly inventive and have fun! Check the oil, fill the tank, put the top down and let 'er rip!

Lyrics

You treat me like an auto,

You drive me hard and fast.

       You got me burnin’ rubber,

       My wheels ain’t gonna last.

       My clutch is really smokin’.

       I smell like melted steel.

Now I’m back to be your Cadillac

Cuz you treat me like an automobile.

Chorus:

Grab the wheel cuz I feel,

               Like an automobile.

               I’m a car, I’m a car

And you drive me so far.

Get the feel of the wheel,

               I’m an automobile…

I’m a gas hog muscle car for you, baby.

You’re backin’ off the throttle

As I slide around a curve.

       We’re headin’ for a straightaway

I’m tryin’ not to swerve.

The revs are really climbin’,

My tires start to squeal.

You’re power shiftin’ through my love

Cuz you treat me like an automobile.

Repeat Chorus: I got four hundred horses for you, girl.

My speedo’s pushin’ ninety

But I got a lot to spare.

       And now my ram induction

Is really suckin’ air.

We reach our destination

I must have blown a seal.

But you put a tiger in my tank

When you treat me like an automobile.

Chorus:               And my motor’s always runnin’ for you, honey.

Story

There are two kinds of rich men: the one has a lot of money, the other has all their need met. Most people want to be the first kind.

I'm more than happy to be the second kind and I may be the richest man in the world.

Lyrics

There’s a whole lot of candy and it catches the eye.

And the road paved with “gold” hollers “Give me a try.

I’m the answer to all of your problems and dreams.”

But mister, I’m here to tell ya, it ain’t all that it seems.

Don’t believe what you see and less than half what you hear.

Then weigh it all out til the answer is clear.

There’s a good and a bad and the bad says it’s good

It’s a fine line between them that’s so misunderstood.

There’s riches that’s true, there’s riches that ain’t

Where the wrong road will take you, you don’t want to acquaint.

Get a map that will show you where everything leads.

Then take just the one with the full guarantee.

There’s a rich man with money and a whole lot of pain;

There’s another who’ll never need nothin’ again.

Your body will follow where your eyes long to go

So don’t blame anybody when you’re walkin’ your road.

When the whole world is going like a spiral to hell,

You can hop off the ride when you pick up that smell.

In a world full of scared and a mouthful of hate

You don’t have to be part of that pew’s congregate.

You heard you can’t take it with you but there’s something you can:

Investing in futures is the bird in the hand.

There’s a rich man with money that wallows in pain;

There’s another with peace and that’s a whole lot of gain.

You can live near the head or you can live by the ass.

And the end of the road is a-comin’ up fast.

Story

This is autobiographical. I was herded down the same roads everyone else is herded down. I wasn't satisfied groping through the fog and I had questions about why everything is just da-da-da-da-da over and over again.

I found out about another road and went down that way. Then I could see behind the scenes and why I had been trapped. Like it says, "Lots of things you'll never see on Main Street." Real life is spiritual. Yep. Forever will be enough.

Lyrics

Walking through a forest in the early morning fog.

I could see the sunlight burning through the haze.

Soon the fog surrendered to a bright and sunny day.

Wondered what a simple thing portrays.

I live, I’ll die. I laugh, I cry.

Can I know why or if the fog that clouds my eyes…?

Why is it called living when it’s just so hard to try?

Maybe it’s not life at all. Maybe it’s a lie?

Could it be that everything I thought was real is wrong?

Wouldn’t be the first or last misguided.

Oh oh, I want to know.

Oh, oh, can I know at all?

I search, I ask. Remove the mask.

Each clue I see but will it ever fit for me?

Oh oh, I have to know.

Oh, oh, how can I know?

I decided I’d walk down a much neglected road.

Lots of things you’ll never see on Main Street.

I could see the puppet master setting up the show

While my strings lie untiedbeneath my feet.

The light I see, the Light knows me.

I live, I love, forever, that will be enough…forever.

Story

I travel pretty light. I try to think in terms of whether what I do will have an impact on eternity. If it doesn't, it's not worth hanging on to or losing sleep over. If you can't take it with you, dump it.

It's like the old saying "Shake the dust off your feet". Funny how heavy dust can be.

Lyrics

Dollar in my pocket;

No. Dollar and a dime.

If I can’t take it with me,

Will not waste my time.

CHORUS:

Free and easy livin’

Rollin’ down the track.

I just keep on movin’ forward

Cuz there ain’t no goin’ back.

Life is for the livin’.

Whorin’ for a mil

Won’t do nothin’ to raise your soul

When your body’s still.

Repeat Chorus:

Dollar in my pocket,

Dollar and a dime.

What I can’t take won’t weigh me down.

Left it all behind.

My tribute to one of my favorites, James Brown.

What's it about? It's like a fire in me. I am impelled to tell whoever will listen that the mind steers the body. Blow the funk out of your mind, people! Then catch the fire.

Lyrics

Flame, I feel the flame, I got the flame,

I feel it burnin’, burnin’, burnin

Like a flame, I got the flame, I feel the flame.

You feelin’ ready to burn?

Flame hah, feel the flame hah, feel the flame hah,

Like fire in my bones.

I feel the flame, feel the flame, feel the flame.

Get ready.

I tell you the truth, won’t tell you no lie,

Don’t ask me when, the question is why.

Power! Irresistible!

Stokin’ it up, unquenchable fire.

Who’s gonna meet you down at the wire?

Wire. Wire, you hear? Why are you here?

Blowin’ the funk right out of your mind.

Flame thrower, I got a flame thrower, got a flame thrower.

I’m gonna set your heart on fire

With my flame thrower, my freakin’ flame thrower. I got my flame thrower

Aiming at you.

Shakin’ your life right down to the core.

You hear the music. Walk through the door.

What are you waiting for?

Start movin’ your feet, baby, I’ll show you how!

What knows tomorrow? The answer is now.

Now, now, you hear? Now you here!

Blowin’ the funk right out of your mind.

BRIDGE:

Nothin’ that you got to pay.

Throw that lousy watch away.

You ain’t gonna run out of time.

Time? We don’t need no stinkin’ time!

Flame hah, got the flame hah, got the flame hah,

Like fire in my bones.

I got the flame, feel the flame, got the flame.

You feelin’ ready to burn? Oh yeah, here it come, baby!

Blowin’ the funk right out of your mind!

I refuse to bow down to the world: its cultures, its traditions, its fears, its trends, its traps, its blah blah blah. I heard the train and I'm riding that sucker.

Lyrics

Ain’t gonna be no slave.

Won’t have to tote no burden.

Ain’t gonna be no slave.

My freedom been my yearnin’.

I hear the whistle blowin’.

I feel the train.

Heard tell where it’s goin’.

Gonna claim my name.

Ain’t gonna be no slave.

No man gon’ be my master.

Ain’t gonna be no slave.

Train keep on rollin’ faster.

No man don’t be my furnish.

He hold the chain.

Ain’t gonna be returnin’ this

Damn place again.

Ain’t gonna be no slave.

I ride the rollin’ thunder.

Ain’t gonna be no slave.

No man can hold me under.

Don’t crawl like a dog no more.

Don’t howl at night.

Been down to the crossroads, baby,

Devil lost that fight.

Ain’t gonna be no slave.

Know how to crush the serpent.

Ain’t gonna be no slave.

Won’t stand for no usurpin’.

I ain’t gonna owe no store.

No, ain’t gonna owe nobody.

Don’t have to be ‘fraid no more.

Been freed by God Almighty.

Ain’t gonna be no slave.

I hold that lightnin’ flashin’.

Ain’t gonna be no slave.

Gon’ live in Jesus’ mansion.

Ain’t gonna be no slave.

Ain’t gonna be no slave.

Ain’t gonna be no slave.

Ain’t gonna be no slave to…

No man, no job, no debt, no fear,

No white house, no handout,

No denominatin’ profiteer,

No televisin’ vulture.

No congress no media,

No word that ends with pedia.

Story

We have been hoodwinked into thinking that religion somehow has a connection with God. Not with the true God. Truth and tradition are poles apart. Religion has killed the true prophets from the beginning. It's not the followers but the ones herding them and feeding them the lies. But they will pay in the end. Don't get me going now!

Lyrics

Tell me, who you tryin’ to fool?

Tell me, what you think you are?

Tell me why you think you’re in for a prize

When you sainted the devil

And dressed him all up in your pretty lies?

What’s beneath your candy shell?

Why you think your hands are clean?

You think every thing’s gonna go your way?

Take a look at yourself, you try to wash ‘em but the

Stains just get darker everyday.

There’s only one thing that’ll clean those hands, mister.

Too bad the brand you use will never wash them away.

Bad news for ya, that boom is gonna fall.

Yeah, the boots are droppin’ down.

Where’s the pity when you’re screamin’ and cryin’?

The prophets are watching you.

Let me refresh ya,

We saw you dancin’ on the graves.

You won’t be dancin’ now—

Too busy squirmin’,

Tryin’ to find an excuse

For rejecting the truth

For the lie you crave.

Things are going to be a lot different then.

Your lord won’t be running things anymore.

Hm, You’re going to bow down

And then it’s over.

Do you like irony?

You fed the reaper

And now you’re reapin’ what you sowed.

You rode the night train, didn’t ya?

You bought your ticket—

Well, here’s your destination,

Won’t you kindly unload.

Story

This is based on a great old gospel-folk traditional. I reworked the words, added some, and gave it a new melody with a heavy bluesy, almost funereal, feel. This had to be the finale on the album.

Lyrics

Satan, your kingdom comin’ down.

Satan, your kingdom comin’ down.

Well, I hear the voice of Jesus say,

Satan, your kingdom comin’ down.

Gonna pray while we tear your kingdom down.

Gonna pray while we tear your kingdom down.

Well, I hear the voice of Jesus say,

Satan, your kingdom comin’ down.

Gonna sing till we tear your kingdom down.

Gonna sing till we tear your kingdom down.

Well, I hear the sweet voice of Jesus say,

Satan, your kingdom comin’ down.

Gonna preach till we tear your kingdom down.

Gonna preach till we tear your kingdom down.

Well, I hear my lord, my lord, my Jesus say,

Satan, your kingdom comin’ down.

Satan, your kingdom must come down.

Satan, your kingdom must come down.

I hear the voice, the Word of Jesus say,

Satan, your kingdom comin’ down.

I’m gonna push you in the fire.

I’m gonna kick you in the fire.

Story

When my wife first visited me, she arrived by train. She looked so beautiful and confident as she walked in the station. When I wrote this song I thought of that moment I saw her (and many things since). When she left, I ran into the train and announced to everyone that I loved her. It was romantic but not like the movies. Everyone looked at me like a tree full of owls.

Lyrics

Well, my baby’s like a train

Rollin’ all night long.

Yeah, my baby’s like a train

Rollin’ all night long.

She loves twenty-four hours,

Seven days a week, strong.

Chorus:

Love, love, love,

She the only locomotion that I’m thinking of.

Love, love, love,

Her love is like a new day dawnin’.

Love, love, love,

I know she been sent by the Lord above.

Love, love, love,

She know I got a one-track mind.

Well, I head to the station

For the Ten-O-Five.

Well, I head to the station

For the Ten-O-Five.

Here she comes.

Love, love, love…

I saw her in the station,

She was steamin’,

Sleek and smooth,

Clean, shiny.  Oh yeah.

I’m her twenty-four hundred,

HP diesel man.

I’m her twenty-four hundred,

HP diesel man.

Love, love, love…

Story

This is an evolving story beginning when I first met my wife, who was a jazz and ballet dancer. She certainly caught my attention and I never forgot her after that.

Lyrics

Who that girl walkin' in the room,

With the long blonde hair and the cute boom boom?

Who that girl slidin' up to me? Tell me.

Who that girl? Who that girl?

Who that girl with the flashin' eyes?

Hot as fire, cool as ice.

Who that girl callin' out my name? Tell me.

Who that girl? Who that girl?

She my girl! She my girl! My baby!

Can't be satisfied with no one else.

Who that girl with all the style?

Grab my soul like a crocodile.

Who that girl got all my love? Tell me.

Who that girl? Who that girl? She my girl!

She my girl...

And when she touch me,

and when she hold me,

And when she love me, it's too much.

I can't say no, don't wanna say no, ain't gonna say no.

Who that girl comin' home with me

Sweeter than a honey bee?

Who that girl got all my love? Tell me.

Who that girl? Who that girl?

She my girl! She my girl...

Story

This is an autobiographical song about my life's journeys. No regrets for the road I took.

Lyrics

Turned my back on a one-way track

Scraped off layers of old shellac.

Rotten beams, tore 'em down.

Said "Go to hell, y'ol' hellhound."

Cuz I'm rollin', rollin', rollin' home.

Rollin', rollin', rollin' home.

Started walkin' down the way.

Gone five miles more than yesterday.

Cross a bridge , burn it down.

Cuttin' off that hellhound.

And I'm rollin', rollin', rollin' home.

Rollin', rollin', rollin' home.

I can smell a garden, sweetest flowers grow

Like when I was a child those many years ago.

Winter's night has melted, spring, it fills the air,

Sun shines warmly down on me,

Feel it everywhere.

And I don't regret a single word I've said,

And I won't apologize for where I make my bed.

And I don't care if I've walked a million miles;

If I walk a million more it'll all be worthwhile.

Story

A song about how I deal with challenges. If we were perfect, we wouldn't need to change. I do.

Lyrics

How long? It's been so long;

Longer than I can recall.

Though time may erase all the stains of the tears,

I still have to fight all the shadows and fears.

Changes; Patterns and figures and changes

Forging the mettle for me,

Etching that face in my eyes

So that's all I can see.

Time, time dragging behind,

All of those memories review.

Let sleeping dogs lie and they'll lie very well,

But here in my mind they'll have nowhere to dwell.

Changes...

Time, time dragging behind,

All of those memories review.

The sleeping dogs lie as the dead in their hell,

So vanquished by light of my heart's citadel.

Changes; Patterns and figures and changes

Forging the mettle for me,

Etching that face in my eyes

And that's all that I see.

Story

She love incarnate! She's "like a train", she's "that girl."

Lyrics

Got me a woman who understands

The greatest thing since the world began:

She know how to love

And I shake all over.

She know how to love me,

Sometime gotta cool me down.

She got the merchandise, she know it's good.

I only shop in that girl's neighborhood.

She know how to love,

Sometime she drives me wild.

She know how to love me;

I'm gonna die smilin'.

She call my name, the whole world trembles.

What you call love, it just don't resemble.

She know how to love me

And I ain't goin' nowhere else.

Talk about love; she love incarnate.

Got the corner on the market and she know I want it.

She know how to love,

Sometime gotta catch my breath.

She know how to love me,

And I ain't goin' nowhere else.

Story

This song is about the deception we face everyday and whether we'll choose to succumb to the lies that are so subtle at times we don't even detect them unless we open our eyes and choose to fight.

Lyrics

I heard the voice a-callin', like a crystal, clearer still,

With a scent like freshness wakened by the dew.

I asked my friends about it but they hadn't heard a thing;

I say, "asked", but somehow already knew.

I heard the bells a-ringing, as to wake a sleeping Muse.

Could laugh, were not such tragedy

That grips the eyes and ears and hearts

They function not to choose.

My cynicism cannot make them free.

And I hear the mothers crying for the sons who lost their way

With tears reserved for those who never knew.

For had they scraped away the thin

But well-designed veneer,

They'd have seen the shelter sitting near and true.

When will we admit that everything they say is wrong?

Each day another shaving of what's right,

'Til some don't even question cuz we've let it go so long,

And some too scared, or lazy for the fight.

Fight!

I hear the werewolves howling for the blood of the sincere

And conscientious voices of our young.

It takes the silver bullet (Are we wise enough to hear?)

To purge ourselves from all their wretched dung.

Story

A love song to my wife. I was on my back porch and saw her in the garden and I was overcome by her beauty and my love for her.

Lyrics

First light of the morning I see your smiling face

Reminds me of all the reasons I'm thankful for the day.

Tell me that you love me, ask if sleep was sweet;

How could it be otherwise when life is so complete?

It goes on and on…On and on.

Watched you in the garden, sunlight in your hair,

Gentle breeze caressed you with it's sweetly scented air.

Couldn't help my smiling, the beauty so profound.

Eye tinctured with a tear for all the love we've found.

It goes on and on…On and on.

And our love is like a fire. It's aflame within our soul,

And its power can't be conquered,

It can overpower the world.

But it's tender and it's gentle so no force can make it break,

And its strength is in its giving, Fear itself is gonna shake.

I know that you will be at my side eternally.

My love, my dearest friend, I will love you without end.

Think of you throughout the day, picture in my mind.

Even though you're miles away you cause my life to shine.

Later in the evening as daylight fades away,

Plan and dream adventures we'll enjoy one day.

It goes on and on…On and on.

Story

This story is only half completed in reality but it looks forward to how I expect it to come to pass.

Lyrics

Would you like to look in my eyes?

There's something there that I can't disguise.

How'd you like to see in my heart?

I could try to hide it but I'm not that smart. Oh, oh.

Do you want to know what I know?

It's getting late, maybe I should go.

Do I have to say what I mean?

Say you won't laugh while I come clean. Oh, oh.

I could say I love you.

But I'm chokin' on my words

And my heart is palpitating for you.

I really love you.

This is something new to me

But I have to tell you truly, Honey,

I really love you. It's love, it's love…

Does your mama know about me?

I'd like to know it's a two-way street.

Would you let me walk you home?

Maybe call you later on the telephone? Oh, oh.

I love you.

I could say I love you.

I'm shakin' in my shoes

But you gotta know it's true, I tell you

I really love you.

It's all so new to me

But I have to tell you truly, Honey,

I really love you. It's love, it's love…

Seems like only yesterday

We were so young but we turned out OK.

Now our kids are growing up too,

Going through the same things we went through. Oh, oh.

I can say I love you

I'm still chokin' on my words

And my heart's still palpitating for you.

I really love you.

There ain't been nobody else,

I'm still smokin' and I'm burnin' for you.

I really love you. It's love, it's love.

Story

An instrumental. Don't worry if you don't hear any vocals. Perhaps you should be concerned if you do hear some. This is a love song with all my wonderful children in mind. My happy thoughts.

Story

This is about not letting the trees hide the forest. Peace and love is here but most people walk right by it. I find it ironic that they then complain about not having it.

Lyrics

Can you feel it all around tonight?

No one has to make a sound tonight.

We've been waiting for so long. Tonight

Is the breaking of the dawn…Here's light.

When you see it clear and it makes you strong,

It will change your world, and it won't take long.

Can you feel it growing here tonight?

There's no room for any fear tonight.

Sweet peace, sweet love for you, for us.

When you see the light flood your heart and soul,

All the darkness fades, you can take control.

And I don't know why,

Why anyone wouldn't want the things we see.

And they're willing to throw away,

Throw away the only remedy we'll ever have.

It's strength, it's sight, it's free, it's right,

It's yours, it's ours, it's love, our power.

Story

This was originally written as a psychedelic song before I actually focused on coming up with lyrics. Nothing seemed to move me so I totally revamped the song while keeping the chord progression - two chords, some progression. It's the old adage about leading a horse to water...except I'm not interested in a horse.

Lyrics

I was standing on the mountain

Looking on the valley below.

There were roads and a pathway

Goin' nowhere.

When the rain started fallin',

It did not rain on me.

It rolled down off the mountain

To the valley.

There were friends, there were loved ones,

There were strangers down below.

I had once lived among them,

Many years ago.

Never much thought about 'em.

Seemed no longer my kind.

When I moved to the mountain

Left 'em all behind.

Well, that rain kept on fallin'

With its own strategy,

And it rolled off the mountain,

Pourin' down to the valley.

Then I heard them folks a-cryin'

In the valley down below.

Hit the roads and the pathways…

Hey, look, you got nowhere, nowhere to go.

I went down to the valley,

Cuz I knew they needed me.

I said, "Come up to the mountain,

You'll be safe up there with me."

Some, they listened, started climbin'.

Others listened, said, "Roll,

We've been long in this valley

And it owns our soul."

There will always be a mountain

And a valley beneath.

We can't make no one's choices,

But we must give the opportunity.

Story

They're all pretty much aliases for the same thing-a dead end. When you're in the maze, you grope blindly. Someone needs to be able to look down on the maze. There's always a way out.

Lyrics

So many roads called by so many names;

You traveled them all and they're all the same.

Of living, afraid, of dying, you're scared,

Have you figured out you're going nowhere?

Torment and pain, what will you choose?

What can you gain? What would you lose?

Is there a hunger? What would you taste

With the sand's running out, to be feeding your face?

May I be of help to reveal it?

Grope a lifetime, still you'll never feel it.

No, no, you're cold as ice.

Was it your mother, was it your dad?

Maybe a friend gave a glimpse or a tad.

Do you remember? How did it feel?

Did you ever consider, what if it's real?

I walked a path on the mountain

Drank from a free-flowing fountain.

You're getting warmer.

Don't be afraid, don't be alarmed,

One more try can do you no harm.

Forget all the lies. Don't look back.

All your walls are about to crack!

Soon the door will be closing and I must go away.

There'll be a key on the doorstep,

But why put yourself through the pain

When there's everything to gain?
